Yes, the MTCM is a huge upgrade, it made my transmission response much better.

And from what I hear, Diablo is still a long ways from cracking the TCM, if they are even looking at it.

RE: Challenger RT v. Camaro SS

I think some people have had the Mopar TCM working in a 2008 Challenger before. With my Mopar TCM when I am at a stop I can only select first or second, and it will actually start out in whichever one I select.

RE: Dyno Result and Other Confusions

A dyno is more a tool than anything else. Use it to tune your vehicle, and to do comparisons before/after mods. Comparisons between different cars on different dyno's on different days can be somewhat meaningless. What really matters is how fast you get down the track.

Remember, its not about who ...

RE: Shift Points with MTCM

I was worried that the "return to stock" setting would do that. I wonder if its possible for them to put a 5800RPM option in, for people with a MTCM that want to retain stock shit points.

Would a CMR tune have any more flexibility in this as well?

RE: 91 CAI Tune ok for me?

You can't change your fuel part throttle, the computer knows at air to fuel ratio its trying to hit and does it on its own. The only time you can change your fuel is at WOT (this is why Part Throttle Fuel Controllers were invented). You could go back to stock and log your knock retard, and if you ...

RE: 91 CAI Tune ok for me?

You have two options.

You can throw a set of high flow cats on, and you will probably see an increase in low end torque due to increase exhaust gas velocities.

Or you can cam it. If you just want something mild you can go for something like a FRI Sidewinder, great driveability, great low end ...

RE: 91 CAI Tune ok for me?

I agree, to be honest, I don't think you've done enough to your vehicle to go catless. High flows yes, but full catless no. Your exhaust gas velocity tanked when you did that.

RE: Shift Points with MTCM

Thanks I'll give it a shot. If I remember correctly though in the predator to get 5800RPM shift point, you don't actually select "5800 RPM", but the only option is to "return to stock" which is usually 5800 RPM.

And I know it is made for a cammed vehicle to take advantage of the higher shifts. I ...

RE: Shift Points with MTCM

See this thread I started on LXForums, general consensus is that you can't, but the wrong information has been posted before (only a few responses). I figured I would come straight to the source and ask Diablo, but they don't seem to know either ...

RE: Shift Points with MTCM

Thanks, I have seen that before on LXForums, but no one ever mentions anything about lowering shift points on the MTCM with a predator, so I wasn't sure what would happen, if anything.

It seems to me like a logical answer to the issue of the MTCM running higher shift points than a stock valvetrain ...

RE: Shift Points with MTCM

Ok Thanks, I'll have to try to do some more digging, or else just play with it once everything shows up, I just don't want to brick my Mopar TCM once I get it. If you come across any info on it I would appreciate it, thanks.

So did I either ask a stupid question, or the first to ask the question?

If it makes a difference its a 2006.

Shift Points with MTCM

So I am getting a MTCM for my 5.7 Chrysler 300, but I am not upgrading any of my valvetrain so I don't want to up my rev limiter in my car to take advantage of the increased shift points on the MTCM (stock shift points are ~5800, MTCM ups that to 6200RPM 1-2 and 6400RPM for the rest).

Am I able to ...

I imagine a location would be helpful. I know a good tuner in Winnipeg, but chances are you are nowhere near here.

RE: question about vehicle update.

Sorry, I just have one more question.

I know the dealer procedure for updating the PCM, it involves doing things like hooking up a battery charger to the car and ensuring its reading 13.x volts (can't remember the exact number), which I'm assuming is done so that your battery doesn't die partway ...
