This is at least the 3rd time I have heard of a failed program attempt causing the injectors to lock up a motor with fuel.
1 guy killed the motor
1 Guy got stupid lucky and all the gas went out the tail pipe
and this guy and a small fire.
Something not quite kosher.

also how about being able to have a full list of PIDs that you can view say on your laptop while not plugged into the tools ?
How about making the pid list searchable?

Nope, I have really comphy seats in my car, I don't like fidding with crap while in the car. and being about to build many dash board while away from the car or uploading them to the trinity from the computer would be a better use of my time.

Why in teh hell would you want to screw with building dashboard or gauges while sitting in the car ? It is lame. The trinity knows what car it was last plugged into and you should be able to store a valid PID list to the unit so you can build the gauges as you like away from the car.

Kevin, naw the issue is loss of connection for what ever reason, be it car power down, of maybe a bump of the data cable, it straight up locks the DV software up. I update to the newer DV software ( I use a net book for Data logging ) and it is not a timeout issue at present. I had issues with my ...

Tom as a suggestion keep the number of pids as low as possiable to keep the data rate high.
You tuner shoudl be able to send you a dash board with exactly what he wants. As an example :
