yeah, they lowered fan temps IN the tune to compensate for the 180* t-stat. That's why the fan(s) are on all the time with the stock t-stat in now.
+20 or so sounds like a good place to start, not having the mfg numbers. Thanks!

Re: 2009 Challenger SRT8 STOCK cooling fan temp settings
Thanks for the reply. In the Vortech system, a 180* thermostat was installed. Cooling fan settings were modified in the tune to accomodate the cooler t-stat. Because this caused a persistent "check engine" light condition and a P0128 code (coolant temp) Vortech advised replacing the 180* t-stat with ...

2009 Challenger SRT8 STOCK cooling fan temp settings
I have the Vortech V3 S/C system on my Challenger. I put up with the "check engine" off and on for a few years and I'm tired of resetting.
I replaced the 180* thermostat (included in the S/C system install) with a stock thermostat. Because the cooling fan settings were modified for the 180* my ...

Re: VR7135 tune
additional: The car ran great with the 180' supplied by Vortech. Performance with it was not the issue. The issue was with the repeated error and persistent "check engine" light. It was either drive around with the light constantly on, unplug the light, or try to correct with the hotter thermostat ...

Re: VR7135 tune
I had the 180' included by Vortech in their V3 system for my Challenger, installed with the system. Because I repeatedly got the P0128 error code indicating the engine not coming up to temp. I sent to Vortech and got a replacement in case the first was faulty. I continued to get the P0128 error code ...

Re: VR7135 tune-fan speed adjust
My 2009 Challenger SRT8 has a Vortech SC (w/included Predator tune). Because I kept getting a "Check Engine" warning showing P0128 code I called Vortech. They said some of their installations trip that code due to the 180' thermostat and suggested I go back to the stock temp thermostat. Now that I ...

RE: VR7135 tune
A follow up to latest flash with 9r08. Engine VERY strong but I'm finding it misses approaching redline, about 5800+ rpm. Until then, VERY strong pull!

RE: VR7135 tune
10-5-10, downloaded and reflashed Challenger with 9r08 tune. Haven't run for numbers yet but the seat-o-the-pants meter says, WOW! shifts and acceleration smoother and quicker. Even without numbers, feels better than 07 tune.

RE: VR7135 tune
Update in the FYI column, I cleared the TCM and reflashed the 9r07 tune. Went out and ran 0-60 in 4.80 sec. Mucho better than the 5.5 previously run/reported with the 07 tune. Don't know why the difference, but it happened. I'll get out to verify in a day or two. BTW, all times shown are from the ...

RE: VR7135 tune
I'm not a tuner, just an old fart playing before the sun sets. I'll give Vortech a call if my resetting TCM doesn't help.
A question , and sorry if it's answered somewhere else. Does Vortech sometimes adjust tunes and coordinate with Diablo for revisions or does Diablo work the revisions solo ...

RE: VR7135 tune
Updated Predator to 9r07 and flashed Challenger. 0 to 60 time lost a bit over a second! Shift to second severely bogged/slowed time. I'm going to try resetting the TCM, reflash ECU, and try again. Got 4.18 with traction control on before 9r07, now 5.5!?
