Thats not a good idea at all, if you want to run 87, use the 87 octane tune :)

Mike, I know that the stock tune in the 2011 Mustang V6 will handle fuel from 87 Octane to 93 Octane by adjusting the timing - advancing timing or pulling timing back. Ford makes the statement that they can get additional horsepower, out of the stock tune, with 93 Octane fuel.
