RE: Can I purchase a DiabloSport with multiple tunes?

Thanks Mikel.

Will the predator store my original factory tune, so I can revert to it if necessary?

Can I purchase a DiabloSport with multiple tunes?

I've been doing some research, and I'm thinking about getting the C&L Street intake with the DiabloSport combo. Since the street intake comes with an insert that will allow a "no-tune" mode, I'd like to get the Diablo with several tunes, ie; 87 Octane with the insert, 87 octane without the insert ...

What's the trade-off?

Ok, so if I get a tune for 93 octane, I'll see approximately 15-20 rwhp improvement. So, what else changes? I must admit I'm leery of changing things on my car. I want more power, and better throttle response, but at what cost? I can't help feeling that by gaining in these two areas I'll lose ...

RE: 87 Octane Tune vs. Performance Tune

But MY manual tells me to run 87, period. There is no mention of pinging, knocking, or anything else. And my engine is a performance engine. I've run 93 octane in my car to see if there is a difference, and there is none. 93 octane is required for engines with higher compression, so they don't pre ...

RE: 87 Octane Tune vs. Performance Tune

Why, then, does my Ford manual tell me to run 87 octane in my engine? Wouldn't Ford want my car to make more power?

Will a tune without any other mods improve my performance?

I have a 2006 Mustang GT, all factory. I've read where the factory airbox/filter has very good airflow, so that a CAI doesn't improve things too much...maybe 8 to 10 HP at most (Which is good, don't get me wrong!). But how much of a performance improvement might I see with just a tune?

RE: 87 Octane Tune vs. Performance Tune

Sorry to but into your thread, but how does the 93 octane tune make more power? There is no more energy in 93 octane than there is in 87, right? It's just that the 93 will flash at a higher temperature/pressure than the 87. Does the timing really allow the engine to make more power?
