STUCK in RECOVERY MODE (TCM)

Was unlocked from my 05 Ram and I plugged in to do an MPG tune. It saved stock files then I had to move the truck (physically) so I selected "NO" to PCM tune and "NO" for Modify Stock TCM tune until it all returned to main menu, started truck and drove home.

When I got home decided to check for ...

RE: The inTune is NOT very user friendly is an understatemen

It is not difficult to understand your frustrations, as I have had similar. However, the Itune is very user friendly once one finds the patience to learn how to use it.

The tool covers a LOT of different applications therefore with each VIN and associated vehicle options there is a different screen ...

TCM tune options DODGE Ram

First, anyone reading this remember - the screens and avaliable tunes/options are different for various makes/models so this may not apply to many...

'05 Dodge Ram - I understand it allows for modification or either of the avaliable options (performance tune or modify stock). My question is: if I ...

Went to CMR dealer today. There are no TCM adjustments for the Dodge 05 Hemi pickup. Apparently Diablo tested a few trucks with TCM adjustments and blew up a few trannys (this was info from the Diablo dealer in Florida).
I have an '05 Hemi 1500 4wd with 5-speed and my tuner has worked flawlessly ...

RE: Factory Update flash (Dodge Ram)

Yeah, I noticed that when I plugged it in for the latest updates today... sure seems like it wanted to install a factory update (to the pcm/tcm) before it'd finish the tool updates when it was out of the box first time.

thanks

Factory Update flash (Dodge Ram)

Seems I read something about this some time ago but cannot find the thread/topic so forgive me if this is a redundant question...

My Ram had not been to a dealer in several years and seems the tool wanted to install a factory update before any tuning was allowed. I don't remember the version when I ...

Re: RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning

sounds like there is no communication with TCM. 05 Ram TCM cal id# is 05094258AD.

"show cal id" should show both PCM #56028958AI and TCM #05094258AD on an 05 Ram if the tuner is communicating with both the PCM & TCM.

This was posted while I was typing... sounds like he knows a LOT more than I ...

RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning

No, that "sounds right." Haven't used mine in a week or so and I'm a rookie at best! But I've have deciced from reading the forum different vehicles behave differently on the tool. I have the same vehicle as yours. It always brings up the TCM menu after the desired options have been chosen from the ...

RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning

You have to actually go thru the PCM tune menu before it will even bring up the TCM tune options. ... "write vehicle > select tune > modify tune? >" then select either "performance TCM tune" or "Modify Stock Tune." If you do not select any PCM tunes it will not let you into the TCM menu, and until ...

RE: Re: RE: 2003 dodge ram hemi not allowing tire size chang

I wonder if the VIN/factory ID has anything to do with the inability to adjust for tire size. Mine doesn't work either (failure to read parameters) and it came out with 20" wheels for which there are very few choices as far as tires go so I don't need that option anyway... otherwise, thumbs up on my ...

RE: in-tune issues still

Mine did the same thing (Windows XP) on the last update. I did what was mentioned in previous post without any admin option and it all worked out fine.

I've found when updating, it looks like it's frozen at times when it's actually still working... and besides restoring the vehicle to stock ...

Good Advice

I'm not a tech and basically brand new to electronic vehicles, much less tuners... but I've been reading a lot here and have decided a lot of problems have arisen from one common thing - updates, or more correctly how/when and the sequence in which they were installed.

Based on a lot of posts about ...

RE: InTune won

Mine won't adjust for tire size at all (but still running stock so no biggie there). I spoke to someone last week at Diablo and was told they are aware of others with a similar bug and they are working on a fix for that.
