You can tell the year by looking at the 10th digit of the VIN. It may very well be an 03 in which case you are right, you have the wrong part number.
The 10th digit is a 4. But the date of manufacture is 10/03. We've ran into problems just buying stock parts for this truck, we usually gotta buy ...
