2018 Silverado 1500 5.3l tune not working

I just received my I3 for my 2018 silverado 1500 5.3l, tried to tune my truck and and its telling me the tuner needs an update and to connect it to ignition. When I do that I just receive the page telling me to add a license or to add an extended warranty. What gives? when I purchased the tuner it ...

Re: Odd problem with 02 Sierra and 93 Performance tune

It being old and having an old tune should not matter. Both the truck and the tuner are from 2002 unless something got corrupted in the predator. $100 is nice credit but that still leaves me with having to shell out $250+ and I just can't swing it now.

Re: Odd problem with 02 Sierra and 93 Performance tune

I've seen that similar problem before. Didn't have a tuner involved although it was hit or miss. Worked properly sometimes and somedays just go haywire. Check all the connections on your neutral safety switch on the left side of transmission (driver side) Also check the bolts and whatnot that hold ...

Re: Odd problem with 02 Sierra and 93 Performance tune

Monte,

I finally got a chance to try what you suggested but no go. It is still there...same problem. It does it with both the 93 performance tune and the 87 performance tune, but again if I choose modify stock tune its fine and everything works as it should.
This really sucks....do you have any ...

Odd problem with 02 Sierra and 93 Performance tune

SO I have an old predator, Software version 2.10, hardware version 1.01. I cant seem to figure out what model number it is but it was purchased from SLP back in 3/05.
Until now I used it on my 02 Sierra 1500 5.3L but only with a modified stock tune to remove the speed limiter and to change the ...

Re: 2009 silverado

I forgot to mention....having the ability to check and clear error codes and not have to run to the dealership every time is also very convenient. Sure beats driving to the dealer, wasting time and gas just to get there and wait again only for them to clear the code and tell you its a loose gas cap ...

Re: Installing Diablo ECM but leaving TCM as modify stock?

yes... if you selected one of the ecm tunes to install, and then you just choose to select the tcm modify stock (why?), then it would still install the diablosport ecm performance tune that you selected (unless you chose mpg booster tune, which is not a performance tune), and then it would just ...

Installing Diablo ECM but leaving TCM as modify stock?

SO im a bit confused about how this works, maybe one of you guys can clear it up for me. This is on a 2009 Silverado with 5.3L, after installng the diablo ECM tune it goes on to install the TCM giving me the option of firm shift, hard shift or modify stock. When I pick modify stock it says that ...

Re: 2009 silverado

I have a 09 Silverado with a 5.3L. I just installed the performance tune in February and I do notice a difference in power. Honestly just being able to shut off the V4 mode and turning off the speed limiter were made this purchase worth it to me but the added performance is also nice.

thanks mikel. In the future should I restore the factory tune prior to updating the tool or does it not matter?

Re: Did not restore factory tune before updating intune ok?

thanks for the reply. I checked and I do have the 1r03h firmware but I am also getting the backout bug where the unit freezes when backing out of the settings menu. Is there a way for me to downgrade the firmware to 1r01q which is the last version that was in there?

Did not restore factory tune before updating intune ok?

I have a 09 Silverado with 5.3l. and the Diablo Performance tune installed. Without thinking I updated the tool yesterday. I want to ask if I should have restored the factory tune prior to updating the tool? Will I have any issues now if I need to restore the factory tune?
The last time the tuner ...
