Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

I finally went with a Hemi Fever tune and got rid of both LT and ST issues I was seeing.

You are correct on the LT based on ST KR.
Hemifever pulled some of the timing that DS had in the tune as it was not needed. I think based on fuel airtemp and other conditions is why some see it and others don't ...

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

The stock tune that you can modify was one of the canned tunes from DS

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

Oh if I said I had it on stock then I mis-spoke. I have ZERO KR with the truck as it was from the factory. The most I have seen is like .5 ST and that was ONLY under WOT. I have not made any modifications to the truck not even intake.
If I load the DS tune, the Stock with modifications(DS canned ...

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

It didn't matter if the mds was on or off. I had the same issue either way. I even tried to correlate it into whether or not it was going into and out of MDS mode maybe providing a false KR issue. One thing is that with the windows down you could here it pinging.

Now with the new tune(MDS enabled ...

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

He can change more parameters than we can with our trinity so I would say yes, a custom tune not just a altered canned tune that i could have done myself.
He firmed up the shift and change the shift RPM. He also pulled the unnecessary advance(we could do some with trinity ourselves mainly WOT not ...

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

I ended up paying for a cmr tuner to make adjustment. His comment was that there was unnessesary spark advance. I got his file and now i have no LT or ST kr at cruise and only a blip of ST kr which is how it should be.
I didnt lose any performance at all, in fact, i gained a little.

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

Mikel,

Any update as to what we should do?

Change any parameters? Not worry about it? Return to stock?

Thanks

Trent

Re: What Changed Between B and D versions

I would continue to wait. They released a "ea" version to try just yesterday that is not posted on their site yet. It was released here on the BB.

Good questions though...what did they change???

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

Leaning it out will make it worse. It would be the same as taking fuel away in the trinity.

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

My next deal is to log actual advance and see what the difference is between stock and DS tunes. Looks to me like actual timing is different between stock and DS.

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

Not sure if y'all intended to fix the LT and ST knock but it is still there. I turned a corner doing about 5 to 10 mph and when i straightened out and gave it a little gas i got knock like crazy. I got 6.5 on ST and 3.5 on LT I let off gas as soon as I could.
I went back to stock tune and I can not ...

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

Mikel,

Any idea yet as to what the cause is? I know y'all are very busy but any update?

On another note, when I re-did my Trinity and went back to the old B, the truck is def slower than the Ci file. Can I just reload the trinity-1r09.crom and then use the update of trinity_dcx_gas-1t09ci_update ...

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

Just curious, did any of you notice if the MDS was engaged or not??

I checked to see if the actual MDS turning on and off was causing the LT and ST knock but I didn't see/hear any correlation. I put the truck in tow/haul and still saw the LT and ST knock so its not the MDS by itself.

Hopefully ...

Re: LT Knock and ST Knock Issues at Cruising Speeds

If you are experiencing LT and ST knock as described, its best to return back to stock and let DS sort it out. They will figure it out and fix it!!
I know its not fun not being able play but its a lot better than having to pay.
