Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

Update!

The locking up issue was caused by the aftermarket stereo and wiring adapter. Called tech support and they advised me to unplug it. Worked like a champ.

The custom tune you guys built me also fixed the gear ratio for me as well. It has been 5 days since the customer picked up the vehicle ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

Anybody from Diablo monitoring here? Spent well over an hour on phone hold and no answer.

What can I do here?

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

PCM_12591910_LastTuneWritten.grg OK, I now have the truck and tuner back in my possession.

When I plug it into the truck or PC, it just says Intune is in recovery mode. While plugged into the PC, it does nothing else.

When plugged into the truck, is runs you through the prompts to recover to ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

The customer just called me...

He tried to play with the tuning, it never loaded in two hours then his battery was dead. It now say recovering 0% and does nothing.

I was on hold for about a 1/2 hour and can't run my business while on hold with you guys, so I hung up. I have forwarded your tech ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

Again Mike, there are no gear change option menu available in the Intune's menu unless you guys have hidden it in a sub menu elsewhere I have yet to find.

I have a call into the customer to see what and when he wants to do. Obviously I can't do anything with the tuner and truck 60 miles away and ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

My apologies for my irritated and aggressive stance on this.

I was just trying to provide my customer with a reliable solution and don't have days or months to spend playing with this... I'm one man trying to do the jobs of three and I have other vehicles to service. I'm over 10 hours in the hole ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

I got the problem resolved it looks like....

I installed the Superlift Truspeed ABS re calibrator and the wheel speed sensors magically read within 1mph of each other.

I then had to set the programmer's speedometer calibration setting to 25.5" tires to get the speedo to read correctly.

The 87 ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

What I meant was....

There were no options within the programmer to be found that indicate gear changes are a supported feature. I'm a first time Diablo user, but know my way around many other tuners and pro grade scan tools. This shouldn't be all that difficult.

This truck is equipped with 35 ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

OK, to just test and satisfy everyone, I programmed the tire size. There were no other menus to adjust tire size anywhere to be found during that process.

Results are C0245 code returned....

Front wheel speed was 46mph, rear 55mph, and now speedo is inaccurate showing 65 mph with an actual GPS ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

You are correct, we are not on the same page.

The are not one in the same....

On a Chevy those speeds are read: front wheel speed by front wheel speed sensors located @ the hub assy and the rear wheel speed read from a sensor on transfer case output shaft AND is a calculated value directly ...

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

I don't need to adjust for the tire size as the speedo is correct.

I need to adjust the gear ratio....... And I see no menu to change it.

Re: InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

I'm in that menu and there is no option for gear ratio.

It is the same menu as tire size calibration, shift points, fan turn on, etc???

InTune Gear Ratio Changes?

I installed new gears in a 2005 1500 Silverado 4x4 and now it has the dreaded C0245 ABS code.

I can see that there is an 18% difference in wheel speed front to rear and from what I gather, anything over 15% will set the code. So obviously I need to adjust for the differences in driveshaft speed ...
