CMR Reg problems

Post by neonhomer »

I am still chasing CMR gremilins in my system.

I had an issue where I could not save modified tunes. On MikeL's recommendation, I completely uninstalled all Diablosport programs, and then reinstalled everything, getting the fresh package from online.

I open CMR (Chipmaster_Revolution_4700.exe), and it tells me about the registration process. I click OK, and then put in my username and password. I click OK and it tells me "Registration Successful, Program will restart."

Program closes, and I reopen it, and it asks me all over again to register. 4.4.7.1 does the same thing. 4.6.0.2 doesnt even ask for my login, it just tells me Login failed and closes.

Back to square one.... Any ideas?

I wonder if they only have you setup to be able to "demo" the program, and not actually be able to save tune files....

seeing as how the login and tune type permissions (gm, ford or chrysler) is all controlled on their backend, that would also be one of the things they could control I would think...

sounds like something is not setup correctly for you on their end. unless it is correct, and they only gave ya the demo version just so you could look at the tunes...

that would be my edumacated guess...

IIRC. Mike has me set up for GM tuning only. Not demo.

Dunno - I can still log in with my other computer fine. I just can't do it from my Laptop. The other computer still can't save. Mike says he doesn't know what is wrong.

I would do another complete re-install and then once installed i would open CMR 44771 and register it through that.

Okay. That fixed that. I can now register the program. Now I am getting a C++ runtime error...
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Chipmaster Revolution\Chipmaster_Revolution_4700.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I tried downloading the C++ redistributable and installing it, and that didn't work. I ran all my windows updates and that didn't work.

I have already uninstalled CMR a couple of times, but not since the reg problem was fixed. I am at a loss right now.

I am in the process of uninstalling CMR (again) and removing the two C++ redistributable packages that are also installed (2005 and 2008).

I don't know what the deal is.

If you have windows Vista, try right clicking on the icon and selecting "run as an administrator". You could also try the Windows XP compatibility.
