predator u7135, version 9r12, windows 7 64 bit
serial to usb cable driver install fails, sets code 10. Ive tried all installers on the supplied disk, d/s website and prolific website, and multiple good driver links in other forums with no success. The cable did work last time I used it probably about 2-3 months ago but now this issue.

Any help or suggestions?

try manually installing the driver through the device manager and browse to show it where the driver lives on your pc, that usually gets around it.

Thanks

I have the same problem.
I've tried using a different cable and it still doesn't recognize my Predator.
Win 7 64bit
Model # U7194
When I use the supplied cable I get the Code 10 error message.
I installed and uninstalled several drivers for it and still get the same error.
I installed through the device panel but still no luck.

Yes.
I have been reading everything I can about it and it looks like it's a very common problem with this chipset.

Thanks Mike!!!

Got it fixed.
Just needed to go to the device manager and under the update driver for the cable, choose search my computer for file and then click on the let me pick the driver box.
I had to choose three or four of the prolific drivers until one of the worked.
All's good now.
