Just received my inTune i2, and 2 failed apply attempts

Hey everyone. As the title says, I Just got my i2. I went through the steps in the instructions and creating the backup went ok. But then I chose the MPG booster tune and then the 87 octane tune, both I adjusted tire size (important to me), shift firmness, and fan settings (installed 180F thermostat). When I went to "Apply Tune" it seemed to go through the steps and then fails. After it wants to put the back up back in (makes sense).

Any ideas why it's failing?

EDIT: Last it was hooked up to car, it failed to write back up and went in to a tech support menu. Not knowing what to do with it, I didn't apply anything and unplugged. Thinking it needs an update I plugged in to computer and now that doesn't even see it and when it powers up, it says it doesn't see the voltage from the OBDII.
But when I go back out to the car, it says vehicle not supported and I may need to update.
