My new ride...

Post by 06MonteSS »

Traded-in my 2006 Monte Carlo SS with 143,000 miles, and picked this up a few weeks ago... (special ordered it...)

2014 Camaro SS -- 2SS, RS package, short-throw performance shifter, NPP dual-mode performance exhaust, etc etc... brought her home from the dealer, and installed the BMR strut-tower brace and Cold Air Inductions, Inc. cold air intake I had waiting at home for it... ;)

A manual transmission? In the NorthEast? Hope you don't end up regretting that. I sure did with the Mustang.

Nice !!! BMR bar interesting, I wonder what the difference is versus the ZL1 bar that fits stock in the camaro.
I wonder what we could to to compare ?? mine is aluminium, but I like the more solid look of yours ;)
anyhow, nice pics nice post.
thanks !

the BMR bar I have is much better than that GM bar... the BMR bar, as you see, is much beefier... stiffer... solid -- not flimsy at all like the GM slat bar they sell....

that's why I went with the BMR brace instead of the GM one... much better quality and better solid support...

and that BMR bar just bolts right in.. uses the same factory bolt holes/threads that are already in the strut-towers... just lay it across, and bolt it in.. done....

Welcome to the LS3 world! Fantastic engine and easy to add power with bolt ons, only. My neighbor has almost the exact same configuration on his '12 SS--same color, as well. The NPPs are good, and his Camaro sounds great--unless I'm driving by in the Vette with Bullets... I'm not familiar with your CAI, but what do you think of the Halltech Superbees with the MAF forward design? It leaned my engine out, more so with the Intune 91 octane tune here at 7000', and the car has really come alive. Obviously, you'll tune it the way you want, but I figure conservatively that the Bullets, Intune and Superbee have added 45 at least to the crank on my '13 Vette. For $1800, I couldn't be happier! Enjoy the ride and tell us about how you tune it.

Mike
