U7186 Needs to be reset back to factory settings, How?

Post by johnboy13 »

2006 GMC Sierra Duramax. Had to get a new ECM put into the truck because my dad had the dang thing running while he was trying to install and fried the computer so now it has a new original backup. Problem is, my tool still contains the old original backup. Anyway to clear it so that I can get this thing back onto my truck? Tool won't receive any updates until original backup can be installed onto the truck or cleared. I do not want to try to install the old original backup over the new code in the truck with the new ECM; afraid that will cause even more problems.

fax proof of replacement to 561-908-0048 then call within an hour with the tool powered up so we can unlock it.

hold times can get up there during the middle of the day...

proof of replacement is a copy of the work order from the dealer.
