boost and rail pressure question for mike

7186 9r08 06 LBZ, then I hook up and read boost It starts at 14psi when I am at idle but my gauge says otherwise. Why is this??? if it Atmospheric pressure??? and that is not boosted air.. and also with the 85hp program in why do I only get 18k psi rail pressure commanded? is the program lowering this pressure? everyone I know or talk to says this cp3 should be around 24k commanded and will 9r09 work on my older programmer I tried the 15 and it locked up

yes, the boost gauge starts at atmospheric pressure.

if you are not getting full pressure, id wonder if something is up with the pump...
