Trinity 2 EX throws errors when attempting to tune.

Post by 6.1Blackout »

Haven't been able to find anything online about this, but every time I attempt a tune with my trinity it throws multiple codes and resets before it finishes the stock ECM scan.

It will get a few seconds in before showing "An error occurred while installing Calibration Update" followed by "An error has occured!Failed to restore the vehicle's factory data. Press CONTINUE to reset the device." Once hitting continue on that, it will attempt to reset for a while before saying "An error has occurred! A timeout occurred while waiting for an operation to complete. Press CONTINUE to reset the device."

At that point it will reboot, and go back to the main menu. I can use every other function of the tuner, I just cannot tune my car. This is especially annoying because I just got it back from Diablosport after sending it to them because the entire device froze.

My car is a 2009 Challenger SRT8, bone stock, and has not been tuned at all. Pics included are of the error screens. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

first question, have you removed the push button and replaced it with the key fob?

Thanks

No, I had no idea that I was supposed to do that, didn't see it in the manual or anywhere else online. I'll give that a shot though I'm curious as to how that would cause issues.

common issue on these vehicles, quick start guide should mention removing the button on 08-14 challengers.
Let me know if that resolves it.

well look at that, something as simple as that button fixed it lol. I'm now tuned up and definitely feel a difference in 1st-3rd. Thanks man!! now my only complaint is my exhaust doesn't crackle nearly as much, but I think it's a worthwhile trade off.
