2003 GMC Denali 6.0

Post by Sabretooth »

Hi guys: I have a Trinity sitting here that I'd love to put to use. I get mixed answers online about using it on my 2003 6.0 GMC Yukon Denali. Can you guys confirm/deny me being able to use it?

need to make sure you have the latest version of DSDownloader installed on your Windows PC.. then connect the trinity to your pc.. once it boots up to main screen, then launch the DSDownloader program and it will find your connected Trinity.. then will download/install all the latest updates to the trinity...

then try it on your vehicle again..

Make sure your old truck has a fully charged battery... a weak battery can cause low voltage issues when trying to install/flash a tune to the PCM...

Also.. Anything aftermarket installed in the vehicle? i.e did not come from the factory?

You need to make sure anything aftermarket is disconnected/pull the fuse for - anything like aftermarket stereo, subs, amps, nav, alarm, remote start, seat heaters, trailer brake/light setup, etc.. anything like that, their wiring harnesses need to be disconnected/pull the fuses for it before you try to tune anything...

also make sure everything is turned off inside the truck.. lights, radio, heat/fan/blower, do not operate power windows, put your parking brake on, etc...

I'll try updating the Trinity again, I did that before plugging it in. I got a message the second time saying " Unable to get calibration names for this vehicle" gave a phone number and my VIN 1GKEK63U23J255012. Remote start is disconnected and everything else is box stock.

Thanks for the help :)

Version: v.1r13c
Part: gm_j1850

I ran it through the update process before trying it the first time. The second time I tried the update it asked me what file I wanted to use so I tried the Trinity gm1850 that's in the downloads page but it said I have a newer version in the Trinity.
I also tried changing the vehicle, first time I tried a 2003 Denali and the second time I tried a 2003 Yukon with the 6.0 litre. Same results on both.

Well, tough spot.
This device has been discontinued for over a year now and we no longer provide new updates for it, so it seems you have a new cal that we dont have support for in this device.

We'll take the t1 in on a trade toward a new tuner if you'd like to do that.

No worries, I had it sitting here from a couple of vehicles I had previously. I can sell it off or use it on my 06 Dodge and sell the Predator it has now. I appreciate the help and just so I'm clear....you do have something that will work on the old beater if I buy new? The Diablosport webpage doesn't list my 2003 Yukon Denali as being supported.

Thanks again

Yes, its supported and even if we dont have tunes for the current cals, the tool will read whats there and we will add it on a newer device.
