This latest inTune update seems to have caused my inTune to not work properly. :(

When I try to go into "Settings" it just goes to a blank screen with the following at the top: a greyed out < arrow inTune title/logo and then the ? (which it is crashed at that point)

Now I have no way to even get in to do a reset as was needed to get it working correctly when I first got the device...

So how exactly am I supposed to get it fixed and working properly?

To be honest if updates have nothing to do with my year make model of vehicle I wish I could simply opt out but the auto update basically forces them on you.

I am starting to be concerned with both your hardware and software quality and am starting to question what else may not be working correctly unbenounced to me.

In looking at parameters I noticed some very odd settings as far as WOT shift points set higher than engine rev limiter settings etc...
I realize the tune is "custom" (IE Not one of your canned tunes) but I am doubtful this reputable tuner sends tunes out that are obviously not correct.

I also was able to look at the CMR DEMO software and noticed the tire size calculation is WRONG...
For a 255/45/18 tire/wheel the CMR software shows 771 revolutions per mile, BUT every tire shop site with a size calculator shows it to be 746.4... that's no small difference...

Seems like if that simple math escapes the software folks there are likely other issues as well...

By the way as far as "Auto updates" requiring users to revert to their stock tune before applying you could simply check for ANY tune file in the Tunes folder on the device before allowing the update to even start to avoid users having the "auto update" somehow corrupt their stock tune backup file... You know maybe a warning to tell them they need to revert their tune before they can update...

Update: Today I plugged the inTune back into my Windows 7 64 bit PC and Windows came up with the repair option for USB devices...
I allowed it to repair the drive and then unplugged the inTune and then plugged it back in. Once I was able to get into settings I removed all of the custom tunes and then reloaded them back onto the device.
Now it seems to be working correctly again. :D

The question in my mind still remains regarding the tire size and revs per mile though. :?:

When adjusting parameters the inTune device wants revs per mile for the tire size installed.

For my 255/45/18s am I to use the 746 as all tire shops show or should I be using the 771 that was shown in the CMR software?

I just bought my inTune Saturday and I'm trying to download the update for it but there's a message from my computer saying it can't open an ITF file and the download is coming straight from the download page on this website. HELP!!! I would like to be able to use the tuner I just freaking bought.

you can't and don't want to "open" it...

just SAVE/Download it to your computer.. then copy/paste it to the intune...

After you have performed the initial InTune update and installed a tune in your vehicle, what is the proper way to keep the InTune up to date with the latest software releases?

I read in one post that you should reload your stock tune back into the vehicle before updating the InTune with the latest software build. In another post, the author claimed you do not need to reload the stock tune back to the vehicle prior to re-updating the InTune.

What is the proper procedure to keep the InTune updated with the latest software?

Rocky, it appears that the updates have stopped so you shouldn't have any problems. It is been forever since they had an update that I can find. They have our $$ and have moved on to the next sucker.

Okay, so I did not read the entire posting on updating before I performed an update on my inTune. I did not restore the stock tune and now the inTune will not allow me to perform any functions when attached to my car. I plug it in and after powering up if I navigate to any screen such as to review the logs, or review existing tune information, the device locks up.

I have the stock tune saved onto my Windows XP laptop as well at logs. Is there any hope for returning this inTune to functioning order without damage to my car or the inTune itself?
