I have a 2009 Tahoe that already is tuned with the i2. I am swapping out the 5.3 LMG for a 6.2 L9H. I am wondering what settings I should adjust just to get this running. Plan is to get it running well enough to get a baseline to send to Lew for a proper tune.
Details:
going out: Stock 5.3 Flex fuel, non VVT, with Tune, DOD disabled.
incoming: 6.2 Flex fuel, Stage 2 truck cam, Non VVT (I converted it from VVT) Non DOD.
I am using the PCM from the 5.3.
I assume that I will need to play with the fueling side of the tune. Will it run with the existing tune, but just not well?
thanks,
Recomended settings after engine swap

Re: Recomended settings after engine swap
I have no idea what a stage 2 truck cam is....we talking summit cams here maybe?
Best bet is to ask others who have installed that cam whether it would run on the stock tune or not.
if not, may not be too much you can do to get it running safely with just the handheld, may need custom tune asap.

Re: Recomended settings after engine swap
thats pretty mild and I would half expect it to idle with a stock cal on a 6.2

Re: Recomended settings after engine swap
I figured the mild cam wouldn't be much of a problem. My bigger concern is the current tune is for a 5.3, and now going to the 6.2 with that cam. Do you think it will start and run with it or will i have to make a few adjustments first?
DOD is already disabled, the truck never had VVT and I removed it from the 6.2.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Recomended settings after engine swap
need to take it to a shop to get tuned... I won't touch a swap setup, they're a pain in the ass... so you need to take that swap setup to a shop to get tuned
