Disabling MDS

Post by jayman »

I recently upgraded my old DS tuner (which is no longer supported) to a Predator 2 for my Ram 5.7 truck. My main reason for the tuner is to disable the MDS which I was able to do with the old model but just discovered that 'Modifying Stock Tune' is no longer an option with the P2. Now it appears my only option is to install one of the canned tunes then disabling MDS through the 'Customize Options' option. My biggest concern about installing a tune is having issues with knock and am not interested at this time (maybe in the future) in data logging for knock etc. My main priority is disabling MDS. What tune would you recommend to accomplish this the safest??

Load the 87 tune, it runs stock timing and there will be no knock issues.

Is the stock tune on the 5.7 optimized for 89 octane but retards timing slightly if 87 is used and if so, does the same apply for the Diablo 87 tune. Thanks

What’s the difference between the stock tune and 87 tune if no timing is adjusted??
