05 Silverado Connectivity Issue

Post by DANP »

Hello. My new Predator 2 is not connecting to the pcm in my 05 silverado 5.3.
After following all the prompts on the tuner display, It says it cannot connect
and triggers UO107 (lost communication with throttle actuator module) I
cleared the code with my reader and the truck runs fine. The only mod I've
done is an after market head unit. Any ideas? Thanks.

Pull your radio fuse and try again.

It's the retained power accessory function that interferes with the connection. Pulling the radio fuse deactivates it.

So my 05 sierra every time I tune it like night and day but seems like as soon as the pcm learns the tune it starts running like shit like is has to build pressure before it can go anywhere then it's like that delay in the throttle response then it's almost like the transmission is slipping loosing power horribly I know it's partially cuz I'm open headers ATM but was wondering if we have to have our pcm flashed or something

open headers....got o2 sensors installed?
even if they are there, at low rpm they are getting a ton of Oxygen washout leading to improper feedback, and poor fueling control.

i just tried to tune my 05 silverado and had the "communication" error as well! i have aftermarket radio as well.. will google the fuse and see if it works.. might explain why my other CEL device wouldn't work unless the truck was running..

And it worked!

You need to make sure anything aftermarket is disconnected/pull the fuse for - anything like aftermarket stereo, subs, amps, nav, alarm, remote start, seat heaters, trailer brake/light setup, etc.. anything like that, their wiring harnesses need to be disconnected/pull the fuses for it before you try to tune anything...

also make sure everything is turned off inside the truck.. lights, radio, heat/fan/blower, do not operate power windows, put your parking brake on, etc...

Have to have the key turned to ON position, but engine not started/running...

Also, if you have low voltage like from a weak battery in the truck, that can also cause tune install issues.. so make sure your truck battery is fully charged...
