one more again transmission

Post by msc42783 »

02' automatic 4wd psd. U7170. I only drive this truck on the weekends and after installing the programmer a couple of weeks ago and having some drive time, the truck seems to be adapting better to the program. I have seen some definate power increases, and driving "normal" the truck does great. But, today I put it to the floor and when the tranny was shifting I thought it was going to come out from under the truck. The mounts are fine, I'm just refering to how hard it shifts, is this normal? Also how long before I notice better mileage? I have this truck on 35'' tires with 4'' exhaust and 3.73 gear. I have a 25 gallon tank and I get 300 miles out of a tank of diesel.

So i assume you figured out your base NOV? The older ford transmissions have a slow learning curve from what I am told. Give it some time and see how she does.

Base BOV will not take the firmness out of the tune. It will only help with upshifting/downshifting times. For example.. Someone who has larger tires on their truck and they accelerate WOT. Some trucks will upshift, then downshift, and then upshift on acceleration. This will fix that so they are not downshifting @ WOT when it doesnt need to. Best bet would be to put it back to stock if you didnt have THESE shifting issues. Have the customer supply his CALID and look into the tunes look at the "Torque tables and TV Pressure Tables and scalars".
