Possible improper installation of Diablo Predator?

Post by DasBach »

Hello everyone!

I purchased a Diablo Predator U7135 for my 2005 Chrysler 300C (5.7).

I updated the "calibration" on the tuner via the PC, and took it to the car and everything installed great. After the calibration, I started the car and it had a rough idle. I didn't notice any knocking or such, just a rough but steady idle. I installed the 91CAI tune and then restored it back to factory just incase, and the rough idle is still there...

Is this how the vehicle is supposed to perform? I haven't driven it yet, as I wanted to make sure I'm not about to kill my engine. It currently has 26,XXXmiles and I don't rag on it so I know its in pretty good shape.

Any help, or clarification would be great. Thank you!

You may have the early 05 MDS issue. Try disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes.

Will this require recalibrating the vehicle again? Whats the next step now?

No, won't require another ecalibration. Just disconnect for a few moniute so the system resets, then reconnect and see what happens. If its the early 05 problem, the car should be fine. If its not the issue will remain.

I disconnected the battery and everything went back to normal. I don't have any 87 tunes, just 91 and 93.

correct - no 87 octane tune for that car... you shouldn't be running 87 octane in that anyway... you need to run 91 octane or higher...

I run the mid-grade gas, which I'm pretty sure is 87. I always think 85 because I think the low-grade is 83. I live in AZ so I'm pretty sure its 87. I will fill it with 91 when I run low on this tank.

I didn't know they sold anything that low in the US. Should be 87/89/91 or 93
