u7194 Z06 160 stat, XXX engine overtemp error

Post by OrO »

If I drive in the rain on a cool morning the engine doesn't reach 170* for a long time and I get a XXX engine over temp error. Can you remove this from the program and e-mail me the update?

Thanks!

Is this a display on the DIC, or a trouble code?

DIC for sure. Reloading the tune fixes it. The DIC says XXX engine over temp, a/c off. The fans go to max and the ECT guages all read zero. It's a common occurance with putting a 160 stat in an LS7. The dyno tuners remove something in the tuning to solve this...I figured you could too. Evidently the ECM wants to see 170+* in 5 minutes or this code throws.

I just went out to clear the code and it was there. I chose "clear code" but it never would. I ended up modifying my fan parameters a bit and reloading the program...it's all good now. Can you fix this code throwing issue Mike? On corvetteforum you can read where this issue keeps many from buying a Diablo. They get a local tune and have this code issue eliminated.

Interesting...I will have our tuner look into this.
Email me a copy of your tune and I'll have a custom tune made to try to fix this.

Thanks

My tune is the standard one with -2% ltfts, fans 99% above 192* and the cat overtemp off. I just got my cable in the mail...I'll try to e-mail my program tonight.
