U7135 Update, Johan or Mikel, please...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: U7135 Update, Johan or Mikel, please...
Well, I think this topic has been beat to death. Frankly, I was a little taken aback at the response I received when I asked my question and provided my observations in a respectful manner. I will not be asking further questions on this forum unless I can't get the answer anywhere else. It's disappointing that DS chooses to treat their customers this way (and by "this way", look at the responses DS has given, if any, on this topic). I have worked on a couple of major internet forums and have had to give bad news of some sort which resulted in many brutal comments. I was asked the same questions over and over as well. Each time, I gave a respectful and informative answer as opposed to a sarcastic one that didn't even address the question asked. In some cases, I created a special webpage or link to specifically address the issue and to try to reduce email and phone calls. Why? good customer service was a priority. Bottom line: Had I given a response like the one I got, I would have been hauled into my bosses office and received the riot act, at a MINIMUM.
Regardless, I suppose I will wait like everyone else until a better product comes out or the new crom does, whichever is first. Don't have much choice.

It is printed on the PCM.concoursd wrote:the problem for the "customer" is that they dont know their CALID before they order and do not have access to check the CALID because it is an internal software number. Its not printed on your door jamb and it has nothing to do with a production date either.

Unless you've been flashed at the dealer...........

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: U7135 Update, Johan or Mikel, pl
thats my point. People dont know their CALID if it has been to the dealer. This CALID seems to be a dealer reflash CALID and not necessarily a current production line CALID, but I could be wrong about that.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: U7135 Update, Johan or Mikel, pl
I know the dealer can update it, and sometimes they mark the PCM indicating that, but if the vehicle has not been to the dealer you do know the CALID. At any rate this discussion is pointless. DS is working on it, and it will be done when it is done. Patience.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!
"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: U7135 Update, Johan or Mikel, please...
This thread is going in circles. Everybody has their answer now from DS and the bottom line is that Dodge did an update, and it's going to take some time to get it in the hands of DS and for DS to code to it. It's a great tool, I have enjoyed the results from mine, and all of us here adults can wait for the update.
People are typing things here that I just do not think would happen were we all at the table enjoying a beer over the discussion and talking about the issue and the hobby of modifying our vehicles. It is just a tuning tool.

I think some posts are AFTER we had few too many beers...lol
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: U7135 Update, Johan or Mikel
Well sort of... I always know my CALID. Whenever it goes to the dealer my service advisor (per my instructions) notes the work order "No updates without authorization". If there is an update, he tells me what's in it and I decide if I want it. No problems.concoursd wrote:thats my point. People dont know their CALID if it has been to the dealer. Not sure what you mean by a "dealer reflash". They hook up the StarScan to your car. It grabs the VIN, current versions, etc. and phones home to Chrysler Galatic Service HQ to see if there are any updates for any of the modules in your car. If there are, the tech has the option to apply all, some, or none. Any updates for released cars are being applied to cars rolling off the line (I think).

dealer reflash is when the dealer reflashes your computer. The starscan tool would be the tool used.
quick, that is a good policy. I have heard of people putting on the RO to NEVER update the car without prior authorization, duct tape a little note over the OBD2 port, and STILL, the dealer reflahsed the computer with a non-emissions related update.
Some dealers just flash cars to inflate the warranty bill. Others refuse to update a pcm unless the car exhibits the symptoms outlined in a TSB regarding a particular calibration flash.

I dont have 09 so i dont have this issue! I think this is an issue that bothers all. I have this thing about buying something and having it do what I bought it for. Maybe I should have done more research. Maybe I did and just didn't understand. Regaurdless our only place to vent is this forum. I thought these forums where set up to help everyone as a whole and make it easier on the company so there phones arent ringing off the hook with FAQ.I find it hard to find answers without wading through a ton of threads. I dont know what Calid is and dont care if I did I might have a better understanding of it. But remember we are all not on the same level and some of us are total newbee's(Me). We still need help in learning! My personal patients is short but like the first gentleman that started this thread i try to stay calm and keep trying to find things for myself. I dont think anyone here is saying this well known company and product is bad. But Just because your the guys at the top of the heep cant mean you dont want to stay there. I'd personally like to be part of that. Hope this isn't beating a dead horse!

What a load of bovine excrement!
I purchase a DiabloSport Predator from an Internet based company and just received yesterday.
This morning I tried to use it on my 2009 Dodge Challenger RT only to find out it does not support the Calid:68061225AB of my vehicle.
Needless to say, this morning I called the technical support line at DiabloSport as it says to do in the owner’s manual.
The tech on the phone told me my programmer needed the latest version of software.
He then proceeded on instructing me to go to the company web-site, download the software tool for updating the programmer and latest CROM file.
“These software tools will fix the problemâ€

Sorry DS, but you already have a Sticky with revisions for all the different programmers at the top of this forum. It would take all of 5 minutes once a week or so to update that post so people know where things stand. It would save both you and us a load of frustration if folks could just check that for progress. Doesn't have to be detailed, just a dated entry on where you think you are in the process. You wouldn't even have to put an estimated release date until you were sure of it. Simple, easy and (almost) everyone is happy. There certainly doesn't need to be this kind of drama (on both sides) about a simple software fix.
And Mikel, one note here... as customers we pay your salary. I know first hand that customer support can be frustrating, but it never helps to get an attitude. Right now Diablo has a lock on the Challenger market because there are no alternatives. That could change any day though, and if it does folks will remember how they were treated when deciding whether or not to recommend your company to others.
