P1040 on 2008 6.7 Check engine light

Post by PaulGarneau »

I just installed this unit and the check engine light came on. Removed it and brought into the dealer and had a fuel delivery code. Had a full service and put the unit back in. Drove for a few days and the code came back on.

Is this a common problem?

Is there something wrong with my unit?

Thanks

Sounds like it may have a loose connection in the harness, may want to contact the dealer and see if they can swap it out for you.

I assuming you mean the puck harness?

Also I noticed the light comes and goes.

Thanks

OK, that sounds even more like an intermittent connection issue in the harness (for the puck).

I just installed the PPE on my Dodge 6.7 and it set off the check engine light. I checked all my connections and they are fine. Is this something that i will just have to live with? Or is this something that is not supposed to happen?
Please let me know what i need to do to fix this!! i want to keep the power puck, it is awesome!

-thanks

I have one customer who is having the same issue. Low fuel pressure code when the PPE is installed. It ran fine for a couple weeks then started throwing the codes. Had it to the dealer and the fuel pressure actual is lower than the desired while the PPE is on.

Yeah, I think almost everything in the fuel system other than injectors and lines has been changed by the dealer. This truck is owned by a "well known" individual and the dealer went through and changed a bunch of stuff. Then when they put the PPE back on it started throwing the fuel code for low fuel pressure again.

I have the PPE in my hands now. Should I send it back to you guys?
