Can someone look at my log

Post by broadfca »

This is the 91 Perf tune w/+ 3% fuel added across the board. I'm seeing 0.0 LT KNK and 4.0 ST KNK. What adjustments do I need to make?

Thanks All :)

Hey Braodfca. I decided to play with my car yesterday and was bound and determined to get the 93 CAI program to work. I got it close by adding 15%/18%/17% to the three ranges. I screwed with that thing for four hours adding a little bit at a time and finally got most of it to disappear. I may want to add more to the mid range yet. Mine looked like some of your graph for a while. I don't know if you need to add that much to the 91 tune or not. But finally got it to get #1 spark in the 24-26 degree range in upper rpms. I kept timing it between 60-80, and sure enough as the ST knock began to disappear it got a little quicker. When you go out try to get several readings, as for some reason the logs don't always look consistent either.

What has everyone else been adding to the canned tunes? I know one thing, nothing works like E-85 on these things, but not everyone can get that stuff for the right price.

Thank you my friend. So, are you saying that adding fuel may be a good place for me to start. Please bare with me as I still have a lot to learn here. I am taking baby steps with this tuning stuff.

Thanks again

DGatzby1 - you say you're adding E85 to your 300C SRT? I thought E85 was 'bad' for our cars. Or did you mean something else?

Not that I have access to E85 in Florida...

I believe that is the only way to get rid of knock other than setting the timing lower. We don't want to do that. In fact some of my logs looked just like yours before I began to add fuel.

I DID mean E-85. You have to get a CMR dealer to tune your car, one who knows what they are doing. You can ask DS, if anyone down there is programming for it. Here in MN we can get it for a 25-30% discount to premium gas, so it makes financial sense to run it in the summertime anyway. It don't work so well in cold weather.

Myself and others don't know what would be bad with running E-85. I do and it is wonderful to take advantage of its increased octane. It is basically cheap racing gas, but (hint) you need to run near a 12.1 AFR.

Awesome!!! I had heard that unless your car was manufactured to handle E85 there might be seal problems. Well, at least you've got the tuning side figured out. So I shouldn't be as concerned if I get stuck at a gas station where I can only get E85... I currently am running the 93 w/CAI tune.

Not likely you will find somewhere where only E-85 is sold. I think they have said we can run it with the 93 CAI tune, but I would not do it for long. I know it stretches the limits of what our injectors will put out at WOT. If you want to use it I would recommend a CMR tune.
