Locked tuner

I bought a tuner from my brother inlaw,it is locked to his vehicle.

It is a U7198,
Vbios 6.01,version 1.03 and the factory tune is still installed.

there is no serial no. on the outside of the unit but i've got the serial # from the display when i plugged the tuner into my truck.Is this serial # ok to put down on the RMA form and can this tuner be unlocked?

i think the tuner is locked to one car only. 2 cars can not be tuned at the same time with one tuner.

I thought I read here where a locked unit can be RMA'd and unlocked for a fee. I can see where that might present a problem though so you need to get an official answer. Perhaps a direct email or calling technical support. Maybe not my business to answer but I'm new and don't know any better.

yes, you can put that serial number on the form, and it should be able to be unlocked by the guys at Diablosport... but... get in touch with Mike here at Diablo before you just send it in - let him know that it's coming in and why.

I believe there's a $100 fee to get it unlocked.

Again, double check with Mike here before you just send it to them... cuz depending on the Predator, I know some of the older ones can't be unlocked at all.

When you say the factory tune is still installed, what do you mean?
Look under options>car tune to see what is listed there.
This must read 'factory tune' or 'stock tune' in order for the tool to be unlocked.
