no start......

2001 ford focus using delta revolution. im working on my car the other day and my buddy is playin inside and pulled the chip out. the key was not in the ignition and off. the battery was connected. he put it back in and told me what he did. didnt think much of it at the time. but the car cranks and doesnt start now, has spark and fuel, what happened?

If you remove the chip completely will the vehicle start? Sounds very strange. Chips were before my time here so I will have to ask someone that has a lot of chip experience when they get here this morning.

ill try that today. can the pcm or chip be damaged in this sitution?

The only way the chip can be damaged in this manner. Is if the key was in the ignition and you removed the chip and it shorted out.
