2006 Charger Cant Install Tune

Post by exrar »

Everything was working fine with the predator until i recently had an alarm system put in the car and after that i have tried to use the predator and it goes through the stages and i hit install tune and it comes back and says tune was not installed. I went to the diagnostic feature to see if there was any codes and it reads "u1113 Unknown" how do i fix this?

You need to completely disable your alarm system. They should have installed a fuse, inline, on the main power feed to the alarm system. They should have run power directly from the battery and they should have fused it close to where it comes off the battery. Pull the fuse and try it again (if you have a backup, self powered siren don't forget to turn that off before you pull the fuse).

Look at your battery. There will likely be an extra red wire either coming directly off the battery or out of the fuse box by the battery. There will also likely be an inline fuse in that wire (outside of the fuse box with the car fuses in it). It all depends on what the alarm installer did. Typically they will do it as described above if it was a decent install. You could call the alarm installation place and ask them.
"Did you run the power directly off the battery? If not, then where?"
"Did you put an inline fuse in the main power lead to the alarm system? Where is it?"

I did what had said disabled the alarm and tried again and yet still no luck. Also something i didnt mention that i guess may have something to do with the problem. I went to dodge and had another key made about a week before the alarm was installed could this have anything to do with the problem?

It's not going to be the key. But I assume you had an extra key made for the remote starter you had installed? It's usually the remote starter that causes the most problems with the tuner. Many aftermarket alarm systems interfere and pulling the main fuse on them usually works. It does on mine but I don't have a remote starter. I think people with a remote starter have more problems. Maybe someone who has dealt with a remote starter problem will chime in.
