2005- F-150

Post by uga_bulldog_25 »

Hey i have the f-150 with 5.4L and the u 7151 with the new firmware 9 verson I was wondering what kind of of % should my fuel pump be putting out at WOT my truck feels like its starving for fuel at about 3500 to 5200 could my pump be getting weak? I've logged some data for my FP,FLI,FRP the FP is hitting 30% at wot and the FLI about 85-100 and FRP about 38 to 40Psi and truck runs great up 2 that rpm range

my truck has several mods 3inch flowmaster exaust,Helix power tower,K&N filter,Jet mass air sensor and getting plenty of cold thanks 2 my home made additon 2 the factory intake it stays with In about 2 degrees of out side temp.

I was also wondering how 2 use the new up shift feature and get some insight on what the MAF curve does thanks

the MAF curve adjustment is an advanced feature used to help dial-in the fuel and timing when you change MAF sensors.

Since you changed to a Jet MAF, then you may want to tinker with that. I dont recommend changing MAF sensors without a custom tune but it really depends on the MAF setup.

Yeah, Id recommend a custom tune for that MAF sensor.

the reason mikel and I are saying the MAF sensor swap should be retuned is because the MAF is used for about 90% of the fuel and spark timing calculations made by the computer. So, if the MAF is sending inaccurate information to the computer or if the computer is calibrated for the new MAF, then you probably are leaving some performance on the table and even some driveability.

To add to the diagnosis, Change the fuel filter every 5000 miles and you should resolve the problem there!
change the MAF to 10% + or so until you get the power back!
