Getting one soon, some questions please.

Post by 2valve »

I have a 2004 Mustang GT.
Ordered a U7146 from americanmuscle and it will be coming in the mail soon.
Question I have is, I have a couple mods..
BBK shorty headers, CAI and super 44 flowmasters..
I already know I'm running lean for obvious reasons other than my white spark plugs :) just wondering some ways to fix this when it comes in.
Plus any tips to get the full potential out of my few mods would be nice.
Please and thank you.

p.s.
Hopefully I posted this properly, I apologize in advance if I did not.

You posted fine. Load the Predator "canned" tune that comes in the Predator for the octane you are running, then do one of two things. If you are decent with a computer, download the dsdownloader software and datviewer. Then do some datalogging and send the tunes and logs to a CMR tuner (like myself) adn we can make a tune to compensate for most conditions if any. Or take the car to a chassis dyno and have the car dyno'd with the air/fuel mixture, then post here and get recomendations from CMR tuners and fellow users! Your car should be fine with the canned tune but it never hurts to check.

Ok so when I get it, I'll download dsdownloader and dataviewer. I'll get the datalog which is basically like a spreadsheet of my cars numbers like fuel/sensor readings stuff like that right? Then I send it to someone and they will review it and figure out if there is anything that can be tweaked to maximize performance/get rid of abnormalities?
How much, lets say if I sent it to you, do these tunes cost?
Thanks for your reply.

You are correct. Mail order tunes for most naturally aspirated gas vehicles is $75.00
