What about the 91CAI tune makes it feel like the car gained 500lbs verses when using the 93CAI tune? the 93 tune has more pull to it, less hesitation at WOT and better downshifts to lower gears on my car.........BUT........the gas mileage is about 1.5-2mpg less then when using the 91CAI tune..............the 91CAI tune at WOT feels like the car is "heavier", and doesnt pull as hard but gets much better mileage...........how do I find a happy medium?
Ive been logging, tuning, and re-tuning for weeks.............I do plan on getting a CMR but im waiting until I get a few other mods buttoned up.......anything in the mean time?

You likely have a bit of KR in the 03 tune, amking the 91 tune feel more powerful.

Its actually the opposite.......the 93 tune seems noticeably more powerful and pulls harder through all RPMs, yet has much more KR and gives me 2mpg less then when using the 91 tune
The 91 tune does not pull as hard at WOT.....feels like the car gained weight and doesnt move as easy.....
Kind of like with the 93 tune it feels like your going with a strong wind, but with the 91 im going against it

Well Im moving to South FL in a month, then ill be coming down to see Johan and get it on the dyno for a CMR.........hopefully that will get it right..............strange car? possibly.........it is number 667 and could still be a little cursed from the one that ran down the assembly line right before it lol
RE: Charger - 91CAI tune vs 93CAI tune - Happy medium?
My thought with this are most people get these ideas in their heads about the different tunes. Same as if you hear an engine noise and speculate further you will find other noises that you didn't notice but were always there. I will agree that the 93 tune will give worse mpg's as you could expect, but the difference as far as the tune shouldn't be night and day. it should be something that is noticeable on a dyno but not really by the butt dyno. Only suggestion i could make is to play around wih the shift points and see if that helps you out at all. i would certainly get those shift points worked out before you run on the dyno as you may find the happy medium and not have the need for a dyno run???
In no way is the 91 tune worse than the factory nonsense that Chrysler downloads into all their vehicles....lol

RE: Charger - 91CAI tune vs 93CAI tune - Happy medium?
Im deff not saying its worse then the factory tune..........maybe its just MY car as stated
The stock tune outright sux, the car feels very weak at WOT and deff feels like its dragging
the 91 tune is a big imprevement over that, but still feels a little draggy at WOT compared to the 93 tune, but amazing compared to the stock tune
The 93 tune by far feels the best, but with 3% fuel added across the board I still get up to 3.5 degrees knock and not so great MPG

93 tune will hinder your mpg's over 91 tune. At least that's what i have found out for my ride.
i would go with a 91 de-tuned tune over a 93oct retarded tune...lol U know what i mean...hopefully...lmao
What are your shift points set at? have you tried raising them?
I've got a '08 Ram and I must say that sure it doesn't create more power past 5400rpms, but everyone claimed faster et's with a 6k shift at WOT. So that's what i did. OMG, she bang's. (just felt like I was watching the chinese guy on American idol with that line...lmao) Anyways, very firm shift from 1-2 and 2-3 when compared to the canned programming of 5600rpms Truck feels like an animal now, although it will still produce the same #'s on a dyno.
