I loaded the new crom 9r11 and I am still having shifting hard problems and poor throttle response on Extreme(I guess I should of kept the custom tune you sent me?) Can you send me another custome tune for extreme?

Don,
What is the progress of the 9R11? Are you working on the unsupported calids? Mine is supported so if that is final with no more adjustments then pls fire it over.

I plan on using the performance or economy tune strictly for fuel savings. Which do you recommend? I also tow a travel trailer(4000 lbs) a few times a year.

cheers to all the 7164 users and esp to the testers

kelly you have the new l30 family...which is good and bad...l20's weren't too great, hit or miss with those trucks and regen. Bad news is the tool doesnt support it but I am trying my hardest and pushing the higher ups to get my the templates asap so i can get these trucks supported already...I know its aggravating, as of right now however it is out of my hands until i get the templates. Once i get em i will crank them out nice and fast for testing.

9r11 will probably never be "released" per say just because the tool was a utter mess when i got it and i have been working hard, finding issues etc that needed fixing. The newest crom when i release it should be a fix all for alot of stuff, like adding the l30 family, fixing the tire size and axle ratio problems associated with the tool etc. Trust me, once i get the templates im dropping anything i am currently working on and cranking out the new tunes for the l30's

SCGt94 wrote:For those who don't want to sift through a 22 page thread, I have the 9r11 crom for the predator made and it's been met so far with great success. If you need/want the crom, just shoot me an email or post here with your email address and I can send it to you. This crom still only effects the L20 based family, as the other tunes don't see to be giving anymore any problems. Alot of trucks on the road today are L20's anyway, its ford's newest family and mostly every truck rolling out of the lot is one.

9r11 fixes:

-Shifting problems
-Throttle response is greatly improved
-Mileage seems to be up for all, though gains have varied widely, but with such an intricate exhaust system due to regen, its too be expected.
-Power in all tunes in where it should be. The extreme tune makes 440hp/900ft lbs in Florida summer heat.
- Cruise and tc are fiixed
-Unit 2 erasing issue is fixed
-Regen's performance hit has been greatly reduced in the power department...the truck still hauls butt in even regen mode.
Don,

A while back you sent me the test crom; at the time I was in Oregon, headed back to Maryland with 5000 lb truck camper loaded up. With the economy/performance tune and a 4.30 rear in the 2008 F450, cruising at 60 (official geezer speed) I saw a pretty stable 10.5 mpg on the trip, sometimes up to 12.5 with a tailwind :-)

Without the camper, on level ground, no head/tail wind and same speed I'm averaging 14.5 - 15.5 mpg. Cruise, TCS all work, there's power during regens although some slight surging when the camper is on the truck and going uphill, and normal shifts at all times. Regens generally hit about every 8 - 10 gals of fuel, pretty much independent of load in bed or highway/city.

Overall one heck of an improvement over factory, many thanks for that :-) I'm definitely looking forward to the "r12" crom when you get your new templates and have a chance to test. Life is good, and may get better yet :-)
