So all four dealers don't know what they're talking about? So I show up, call them liars and demand that software updates they have no record of be installed in my Magnum? How's that going to work out? If just one of them had said yes, there is an ECM update available for your 07 MSRT8, I might question the others. But four dealers, checking by vehicle VIN show nothing for ECM updates. "But hey, the guys on the forum says you're wrong and there is an update!" Put yourself in their shoes. What can they say to that when the information available to them as Dodge dealers says otherwise? What can I say to that? "You dealers are wrong....the guys on the forums have to be right!" Who am I to believe here?

Bottom line is, DiabloSport makes no mention of 9r18 software, the latest and greatest, not supporting 07 MSRT8 vehicles. Others here seem to have known this.....somehow. Does DiabloSport know it? Why is this information not clearly explained on the site?

Does anyone see my point here?

I certainly do. Diablo is certainly less than forthcoming when it comes to accurately portraying just what vehicles and calids the Predator does or does not support. In addition, I agree that the serial/USB cable is a necessity not an option and should therefore be included with the unit.

Believe me BucMcMaster not everyone on this forum has had positive experiences with Diablo and their Predator.

And thats why alot of the vendors include the cables. But you can't just buy from some bullshit shop in the middle of nowhere. You gotta buy from a vendor who actually knows the vehicles and has experience using the Predator, not just selling it.

I don't want to be charged for crap that I don't need. If a USB/Serial and power supply were added it just drive up the cost.

I don't want a power supply because I have a laptop that i can just bring out to the car.

I don't want a USB/Serial adaptor because I already have 2. If you really want one, just go to Walmart and get one. Are you really being put out by this?

No, I'm not really put out by the lack of a USB/Serial cable. I am however put out by a company that sells a product they tout as "compatible" with certain vehicles and then seems to run and hide from folks who purchase their product in good faith only to find out that they've purchased a $375 paperweight.

I'm also put out when the company is advised of a Predator issue via this forum, asks the customer for verification both via this forum and email and then completely ignore both the customer and the issue that was brought to their attention. A reply, any reply, would be better than ignoring the customer.

Where is the compatability promised with my vehicle? Where's the customer service I was lead to believe I would receive? Where's the common decency of responding to requested forum posts and emails? This is not only a lack of customer service it is in fact downright RUDE behavior.

I'm glad there are many people who seem to have had a positive experience with Diablo. My point is that there are many of us who have not been quite so fortunate in our dealings with Diablo.

Dear Lord....this is insane. Buy the right tools to keep your predator up to date.

With all the wasted time here bitchin about it you could have been driving your ______.

Dealers do not have a good handle on what exactly happens when they connect your cars computer to the StarScan tool. Cars get updated every trip to the dealer. I don't need to read a forum to know how it works... ps: My stuff works. : )

I find it quite telling that the DiabloSport moderators-question answerers-problem solvers won't touch this thread. Could it be that I am right, and they know it?

I'll be filling out the RMA form this evening and letting them know how disappointing this experience has been. I'll take my 20% restocking charge hickey and chalk it up to a lesson learned. If you think this all so much bitching and whining, so be it. I could not care less what you think about how I perceive this situation. Just read what has been posted, all of it, and put yourself in my shoes. In the end, it will have cost me about $90 or so learn, after the fact, that DiabloSport does not publish all information relevant to purchasing the Predator tuner. Sure would have been nice, and not nearly as frustrating, to learn this before I spent my money.

i can empathize with this because i kindof had the same situation. granted i didnt have all the info i needed right off the bat, i did buy it for a reason. so chalk it up to misinformation, pony up the cash, get the update and drive it like you stole it.

I dont see any right or wrongs here....I like to leave these threads to the users as they can better relate to your situation.
mn300c seems to have gone through the same initial disappointment, yet is politely suggesting that even if getting the cables is a headache or just plain not right, it is well worth it!

You don't see any right or wrongs here?! Oh my freaking god! There it is for all the world to see, folks. My situation is your situation! You see no fault with the lack of info provided by DiabloSport regarding the application of the Predator? Really? Buying the cables does me no good whatsoever, whether it's "a headache or plain just not right" - I have a Mac! It just plain won't work. You, like several of the posters here can't seem to grasp that the real problem lies in the ommission of information as noted above.

Thank you for your assistance, you've been a big help.

Yes, You have a Mac. I'm sure many other DSP users do too yet they seem to coexist. Others have offered solutions to your Mac issue, if you care not to listen, then so be it.

Your beligerance is just tiresome. Please just do us all a favor,,stop posting on here and return your Predator and try to be happy.

Good luck to you

I have a Mac as well, and to solve that problem I purchased a mini Dell just for my Predator. It's easier to take in the car when running logs, and works great! Of course you are going to need to update your Predator via the internet whenever they add new features to keep your unit up to date. Would you like to have to buy a new one every time they find a way to improve it? Sounds like you have made up your mind even though everyone has given you the info that you need to resolve the situation. So just return it, and run it stock... just don't get mad when you come across a Diablo tuned car that outruns yours. I know you don't want to spend any more $$$, but in the end it's worth it.
Options I,II,III-Mods: AiraidCAI w/scoop adapter,180 t-stat,Predator w/ Per93 CAI Tune,BT Catch Can&Bling,KillerGlass,CustomABS Cover,LEDGLOW&Streetglow everywhere,Custom Trunk Liner&Enclosure... I can't stop! It's a sickness!

Read it, same stuff applies to you.

As far as the Mac goes, DS supports what 90% of us use, a PC. They don't have the man power to support both platforms.

BucMc your very first post in this Thread says "silly me". Right! You need to do more research on an item before you buy in on the internet. All of the instructions are clear and this forum has SEVERAL Threads on your specific problem.
Like I told the other guys in those threads, I like reading and occasionally responding on this forum to help guys and try to learn more stuff myself. I suggest you get the cables if you don't already have them and LIGHTEN up. This product is well worth what you paid for it. Get it loaded into your car and post up what you think then.
And besides that, just like the others, the problem IS NOT that your product will not work. Mike Levy told you that in his first post to you that you basically have not acknowledged in your subsequent rants, this is not a DS issue it is your car that needs updating. Matter of fact your first post has so much sarcasm in it, you make several false statements.

I'll second Duster360 keep even your abbreviated profanity to yourself or go away, some of us are personally insulted by those statements.

$375 - 20% is how much ? $75 bucks....or the pc kit ? Hmmmmm

Now there are other things in this world that work better, safer, stronger etc with another item(Purchased separately) . Not all of them advertise this. The Diablo sport is not needed to make your vehicle work, but can make it more fun, more efficient etc , depending on the user.

Don't let forum folk responses get to you...it's the INTERNET. I'm telling you you'll enjoy your Diablo when everything is updated. I almost bought the cheapest Predator I could find(I have a quick draw "buy it now" finger) , but read more, procrastinated , read more and made my move with more knowledge.
