Hello All,
I have a 2007 5.9 MegaCab, 2WD, Automatic with Banks Cold Air Intake and Silverline Exhaust (i think a 5'') and the Preditor. Otherwise I am stock with factory wheels, etc. I am a weekend bracket racer and I have been so impressed with the power of my truck that I decided to give it a run down the local 1/8 mile track.
Let me just say that sticky tires are essential! However, leaving at about 1800rpm and just rolling the throttle on the RKL tune to avoid smoking the tires, I have run a best of 9.10@79mph. Bottom line, this truck will easily crack into the 8.90's with sticky tires. I think 9.10 is about a 14.30 on the 1/4. Go Diablosport!!
Problem: Took it to the track 1 time and ran it about 6 passes on 1/8 and now the tranny seems to be a little lazy on the 1 - 2 shift and seems to be doing some hunting others have talked about.
Questions: 1) Would a valve body and TC help get rid of this? 2) I don't plan any more mods (ha ha) since this is my tow truck, so would a aftermarket Tranny be overkill?
Thanks and great board, and great products!
New to the board, but a couple of things.......

RKL is not good for your trans and you have probably already damaged it. A valve body and TC will do you some good but I would definitely pull the trans apart while it's out and check all the clutches and bands....
