2009 6.7 cummins epp no start

Post by jcrown »

just installed part #p1040 on my 2009 cummins 6.7 and the truck will not start. disconnect the puck and the truck starts and runs fine. what could this be? There are two other plugs in the harness that the instructions say nothing about (only mentions the connections for the rail pressure sensor). Do these other plugs need to be connected?

Did the pressure relif valve mod (shims) is it going to hurt the truck to drive it without the puck and the rail shimmed?

The shims will be fine without the puck installed.

Sounds like maybe you have the wrong harness?
Can you post pics of the harness connectors?

OK, somehow you got a harness for a duramax...so thats the problem.

Contact the dealer who sold it to you and ask them to swap it out for the ocrrect unit.

Thanks

I need some help, I hope someone can help me. I have a n 04 cummins. I already had to replace a piston, injector, re-man the head, dropped a valve seat from too much heat, guess. Now I have the truck back and I went to put a power puck on it. I drove it around and seems like no problems, then I go to start it one time and it just cranks and cranks. So I took the puck off, runs fine now. Pretty sure i have the right puck, says it is right on the box it came in. What is wrong?

The code it is throwing by the way is P 0148.

Same problem

Post by FPSeth »

yep- i got a no start too- i thought it may have been a 'universal harness' hence the extra plugs.....
So, we are a Diablosport dealer- I guess we contact you for the right harness?

Wrong harness or mis-boxed?

Post by FPSeth »

MIke-
I just had a run-around conversation with one of your customer service guys about this 'wrong wiring harness for the 6.7L Cummins' issue-
Your answer to the question on the forum is to replace the harness- I told this to the tech guy and he will not send us another harness for fear of the actual powerpuck is mis-boxed.
Ok, but if we order another P1040, could we have the same problem?

Would'nt it make sense to put a label on the powerpucks like you do with the predators so we can tell if we have te right part BEFORE we install it?

Ideally they should be packaged correctly to start with. I made this suggestion to the bosses, we'll see where it goes.

Thanks Mike-
And don't take it personally- you do a fantastic job there and I'm sure it is not easy being the 'first line of defense'- Obviously the packaging issue has nothing to do with 'Technical Support'!
Keep up the good work!!
