3 Run Logs.. Adding fuel helped but now what?
U7137 2009 Dodge Ram 4x4 Hemi 9r05
Here are 3 Run Logs.
The First was the canned 93 oct predator tune
The Second I Added 4%, 5%, 5% Fuel and changed the shift rpm to 5800
The Third I Added 4%, 6%, 7% Fuel.
Im running 93 oct fuel (Valero) Junk but its all I can find.
How does the 3rd Log look? I'm a complete newb.
What should I do now?
Thanks a ton for any help

Ok I guess im just plain stupid... When I open the .log file with the dataview 3.3 program it opens just fine. However when I attach it to my post and then download the file (save as) and try to open the downloaded file (saved as filename.log) the dataview 3.3 program says invalid file format. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Lee

You haven't done anything wrong. It's an issue with the upload/download of files on the server. It basically (randomly) removes a small portion of the file at the end which renders it invalid. It's best to find a place to host the file and then make a URL reference to it. That way the files won't be corrupted.

Nothing. Seems that the file attach function on this site munges the files somehow. Happens most all of the time. Kudos for actually trying it after attaching them.lross78550 wrote:Ok I guess im just plain stupid... When I open the .log file with the dataview 3.3 program it opens just fine. Third log looked the best. Add some more fuel. Looks like you're getting close.
Or leave your parameter list alone (don't reset parameters when you select the 93 CAI tune) and try the 93 CAI tune. (the CAI tunes add a bit more fuel).
If ST and LT knock retard are flat zero all the way across then maybe back out a little fuel. I think adding 5% at a time until you overshoot or get to around +20% and then backing out a couple % is the easiest/fastest. You want to see something like maybe a ST bump to around 2* or less around shift points or when you first go WOT. Shouldn't see any LT at all. If knock retard is flat zero ALL the time then you probably have too much fuel.

Wow thanks Quick thats a big help! I will make some runs tonight after work and try to get that st knock down.
Is there anyway to save my modified 93 tune to a custom file on the predator or do i just have to write down all the settings and reenter them after a trip to the dealer?
thanks again for your help

Yeah, read the tune from the Predator and write it back in as a custom tune

Have you varified that this actually works?Cruisin1966 wrote:Yeah, read the tune from the Predator and write it back in as a custom tune
I've attemped this several times with a custom tune + my changes and the tune, once its reloaded is just the stock tune.
using a Srt-4/Trinity btw

Works just fine on the Predator.
1) got to be sure when you get/upload the tune that you select last tune written and not the original backup.
2) when you write/download it to the Predator it will show up in the custom tune section and will look like a "base" tune. It will not display any of the changes you made before uploading it to the PC -- the modify parameter list will not show any "*"s as if anything was changed.
Reason is this: whenever a tune leaves the predator (except the original backup) what it does is copy the selected tune file, apply any changes from the modify parameter list, and then send the resulting tune file to the car or pc (Last Tune Written is this final copy). Now you have a "base" tune file. When you download it back to the predator it's a tune file just liike the canned performance tune files.
Is that what you're seeing? Easy to check if you have a wideband.
