U7180 Problems-trying to get some help

Post by Tmweb13 »

01 Duramax, New Predator U7180 version 9r08. Speedometer shows about half of what it should been when tune is installed. Tried changing parameters and still wouldn't work. The default gear ratio reads 7.xx and wont change. When it does change it reads 3.72 instead of the 3.73 I installed. I put my tire size-285/75R16 in and it wont save either. It says it is saved but when I go back into it, it shows no size. Also, the cruise control does not work when a tune is installed. I have tried metric and inches for tire size and the speedometer only read close once, and the cruise control never worked.

Do you have the cables to connect the tool to the PC?

If so, can you write the tune to the truck, then export the last tune written and original backup so we can take a look?

No I do not have a cable, but I can get one and do that. Thanks for the response, I will try to get it posted for you as soon as I can.

Do you want me to change the paramaters to what they should be for my truck or leave everything as is on the tune?

Yeah, write the tune with your tire size changes then export that.

So do I have to buy the DC power adapter for the Predator from you guys? Seems like no adapter will work for it so I have no power for my Predator so I can upload the tunes onto my computer.

I have everything now, but I don't see anything on the Predator that allows me to upload the tune onto my computer.

Ok, I found where to upload, but when I try to upload the Predator just says sending but never sends. It stays at 0 bytes and then eventually says the upload failed.

Serial cable plugged in properly?

Driver installed?
Are you using the auto connect function of dsdl?

The cable is plugged in properly, it didn't come with a cd, which it was supposed to, but I got on Radio Shacks website like the troubleshooter on this website said and I downloaded everything I needed. I'm not sure what you mean by the auto connect function on dsdl? All I am doing is hooking the usb cable up, plugging the Diablo in and going to the 'Log Upload' option and hitting 'Ok' Unless I am not doing the auto connect and that is the problem, then I don't see any other problems with anything. If all else fails, I'll go back to Radio Shack and get the cd and re-install the cable. I know you are trying to help resolve this problem, and this new problem probably isn't the Predator, but it is still frustrating that now I have over $400 in this thing and still cannot use it.

Any ideas on this yet? Had this thing for over two weeks now, have over $400 in it, and still useless. I would like to know if I should be sending this thing back to get my money back before the 30 day satisfaction gaurantee runs out.
