06 Ram - Issues with Predator; Need support.

Post by jetman150 »

06 Ram Hemi, Long tube headers, hi-flow cats, k&N CAi, magnaflow exhaust.

1. You have said that the predator will run lean with the LT's. Have contacted a CMR for support, but how is this fixed? Does the trinity support LT's?

2. Data logging. Can only log OBDII standard menu stuff. need to log more! How can I log more information in one file? If I turn off the OBDII stuff, then I can get some, not all of what I have selected. Whats up with this? can I expand the capability of the log with the laptop?

3. Predator freezes while logging data, shows all the PIDs I selected, then freezes after 30 seconds or so. can only retrieve the OBDII stuff.

I bought the Predator because I wanted tunability with the mods, but all ive gotten so far is difficulty with logging the data that has been recommended to fix my issues. Please tell me what to do with this thing. Return It? Repair it? I keep reading of people loving this thing and they can make it do jumping jacks. I cant get it to do anything but load tunes.
Can you hook up to the dataviewer with a laptop to record real time data and have complete logs? I cant send my CMR guy the right information if he has to get it in three different packets.. Whats up here?

Does the trinity support the LT's, or will that run lean too?

1. You can add fuelk through the Trinity, but a custom tune is the best idea.

2. What else are you looking for specifically? If you dont see it in the Trinity, you'd need to live stream it to the Dataviewer.

3. How many PIDS are you selecting? The more PIDS, the slower it will sample....

1. will try the custom tune just sent by the CMR..

2. Trying to see spark, knock retard, etc.. I have the predator, can I live stream with that??

3. The most I ever got at one time was 11 with just the predator.. now I cannot have more than 5 or 6.. no matter what I select..

...Really, if I can live stream the data, or expand the capability of the predator to see things like, all 8 cylinders spark, fuel, knock, egt, then I think that will help solve a lot of problems..
I tried to hook it up the predator to the truck, and the dataviewer at the same time, but no luck.. is there a process or a trick to do that?

2. Sorry, thought you said Trinity...Pred has fewer PIDS, but you can see spark and knock for sure. Live streaming to the DVprogram is best option.

3. hmmm...should support more than that, but like I said, if you have a laptop, try the dataviewer, it has no limits.

alright, well tried to plug into laptop, and the tuner says "out of memory"
version 5 latest..

Is there a list of PIDs that can actually be selected and read on the tuner? or is this different for every year model? I would like to find out which PIDs will tell me something or not, having to play trial and error to see which ones actually give me any information..
Ive been trying to record ST and LT Knock, but nothing has shown..

Heres a log of what I could get without selecting the OBDII stuff. this is the CMR tune I just got..
Do you mind to take a look ?
