oooo so now you need my help! haha, no problem bully dog. The predator needs a usb to serial cable and a 12 volt power supply, we sell them or you can pick them up in stores. Then you can download DS downloader off our website and send the new crom to the tool. Basically you hook the predator up and let it power up...make sure the pc can see it (aka install the drivers that came with your usb to serial cable) then open DSDOWNLOADER, it should automatically find the tool then hit "send crom to tool". Then choose the file that i will email you to send to the tool and you should be good to go.

don, you forgot to tell him to unplug the power supply to the predator and plug it back in after he selects the file to install into the predator.

Don C... You forgot I took up for you and Diblo when I realized the complexity of the L30 Format.. Any how I have all the necessary hardware, USB to Serial cables etc> I just need the instructions in "laymans' Terms or country boy language.. Thanks for your help. I think I'm going to wait to load the Program untill the Beta test guys give the results to make sure there are no "bugs"

2008 Ford F250 King Ranch 6.4L- unable to change tire size

Post by Andysapp »

Hi. I have a 2008 Ford King Ranch F250 with 20" tires and have installed 17" winter tires (winter tires are not available in original size). I have tried changing the tire size several different ways (even reverting back to the original tune and going to 900 revs down to 550 revs) and the meter shows the change but the speedometer error doesn't change at all. Is this a problem with the Predator or has Ford locked out tire changes in the computer?

My ids are unit 1: 8U7A-14C204-CF
unit 2: 7U7A-14C337-AB

One suggestion for future croms is the ability to read the lock code as I didn't get it with the truck and would love to be able to access it.

Thanks, Andy.

I have the predator U7164 and use the 80 HP tune

I believe this is a problem on my end, the tire changes are made to the abs module (as far as ford is concerned) which is obviously not flashed by us. This is my next job i need to tackle. I will let you know when i have a fix for it..
