modifying a canned tune

Post by eddieray »

2007 300c 5.7l w/CAI and catback exhaust mods

What determines when and how much fuel to add across rpms...I know the air fuel ratio and the ST & LT knock are the determining factors but what numbers should I be looking for?
I have the 9r20 and am pleased so far with both 91/cai and 93/cai tunes but which is optimum?

Thanks in advance, any input you guys have will be helpfull 'cause I'm a major noob  in here!

0 knock is the goal, and I hear a spike of 2 degrees of ST Knock at shift points (which quickly drops off to 0) is ok/normal

It is a support forum, but you're almost asking "how does one tune an engine"?
There have been innumerable threads and post on ST and LT and what numbers to shoot for and what is too much and what is fine.
There are many threads on the difference between the 91 and 93 tunes. The one that is optimum to start with is the one that works best with the gas you're using. See above on ST and LT.

So... like 09Laramie said. spikes to around 2* KnR around shift points, that drops off to zero quickly and low 12's afr.
