Predator won't take the custom tune file anymore.

Post by Speedlab1 »

I have CMR software and I'm a CMR dealer.

06 Mustang GT with ProCharger SC kit.

I did the custom tuning with Predator (U7140) about a year ago for this client. Works great. LTFTs are small values. Happy with the tune througout.. Good healthy performance on street and on dyno. All I wanted to do now is to turn the rear O2 sensors back on because the car apparently isn't getting a system ready status.

To do so, I"m using the current DS Downloader as available from the download web page.

Predator has worked before, but now Predator gives this message when I try to insert a custom tune into the Predator.

"Custom Tune write failed at offset 0X40000, size 1024 counts 1024, code 27."

Any idea what I should do to get this Predator to work again?

I am having this exact same problem with the exact same error message.

I saw the other posts regarding the error and all seem to mention checking/unchecking the compress send option. I have tried both options and both produce the error. What I noticed is the message appears at the same file progress ~80% transferred.

I turned off verification on the predator and the file transferred. Then when transferring on the mustang, I get the check engine + maintenance lights with the error code p060c (checksum error). So it seems like there is a problem with the tuning file but this worked about a year ago. I am running the leatest dsdownloader and updated the predator to 9r03 firmware for my 06 mustang.

thanks,

I called tech support and talked with Mike. He said the error was most likely caused by the tuning file not being associated with the original stock backup. I contacted my tuner and gave him my stock file. He then rebuilt the tune file and it loaded on the diablo correctly.

This problem is now solved...but now I am getting a P060C error. I will post a new message in the Ford thread.
