L 30 test crom 9t12c feed back
Don,
Here is some prelim results for the new L30 crom.
My driving habits are easy on the throttle and 90% HWY @ about 100 km/h
I loaded the 9t12c the other day using the 80 hp setting I found:
Truck went into regen after about 5 minutes. Thought it was just a fluke but then it cycled again the next day.It quits regen and then resets itself when I turn off the engine but cycles again after a few minutes. The truck on stock would regen about 2-3 times per tank or about 500km's.
Turbo on stock on a flat hwy w/no wind between 6-8 psi.
turbo on 80 hp tune 11-12 same conditions
I only ran this tune for about 60 km's or so but I want to go back to stock to see if it regens so often.
I did complain a few months ago to the dealer that I used to get 600km to a tank and now I was lucky to get 500km. I had mentioned the EGR but they refused to replace it. After telling them that my boost was running about 10 psi they asked me to drive 'er hard. This is after I had mentioned my grandpa driving habit. So I went out and thrashed the crap out of her for about 30 minutes of lots of acceleration and high revs. Well guess what??, my stock boost went down! So did I get better fuel economy? NOPE! At least my turbos are decarbed LOL
I was hoping that this new tune combined with my lower boost would give me that 600 kms per tank again but I'll never get it if it keeps regenerating.
Need more feedback on this latest tune from other Betas.
Good luck Don!
Sorry for the long winded post

regen means the regeneration of the particulate filter. The 80hp and 100hp will effect how boost come on, so that seems normal in the above post. Phatalex, try some seafoam to try and take care of any carbon and soot build up. Then try the economy tune, boost should be a bit lower...

I tried the econo tune (50hp) and still goes into regen every trip guzzuling a nice 22l/100.
Two days ago I put it back to stock because I was sick of losing all that fuel. It's no longer regenerating in stock after about 90km's
We know these 6.4s are sensitive to regen but WTF!? what a pain in the ASS!
Is no one else testing this crom. I was "lucky" enough that my dealer did it for me without telling me when my truck was in for a seatbelt issue.

could be the l30 in general is now more sensative. Granted these tunes are based off the l20 stuff so the l30's may need further tweaking/changes. The l20's were pretty sensative to regen as well, some trucks would do exactly the same thing as yours and others ran like a champ with no problems at all. How many miles are on the truck phatalex?

heres some info on the stock L30. for some reason the computer has quit going into regen. in the last two months i have seen it one time. it had the service engine light on for about an hour two weeks ago and then went off. havent seen it again. and now the drain water separator light is on . but i have drained it twice and still coming on. these are just some of the problems im having from my stock 6.4. For this reason im scared to put the preditor on it yet. cant afford to buy a new motor.

Since getting flashed the l30 I have noticed that when it goes into regen it displays only for a few seconds where as previously it would stay displayed in the instrument cluster the entire regen cycle. I also get a message that says "drive to clean filter"(or something like that)
I have no doubt when it cycles as you can feel the power loss and here the back washing type of sound when you throttle it and back off quickly.
I would say if you have warranty it's time to pay the dealer a visit to resolve your warning lights.
