2010 Camaro LS3 Tune Suggestions?
2010 Camaro LS3 Tune Suggestions?
Hello Forum,
I need a little help and a crash course with the optimal tune settings from my LS3 Camaro. I have had the Trinity for a few weeks and I am just starting to learn more about tunes and how they work. Forgive me ignorance but this is a new world for me. I have scoured the Internet and I have not been able to find a steady guideline for LS3 engine performance on the new Camaro. I have read Monte’s guide on LFT’s and the 0-2% on the injector slope is really hard for me to get to. I was running -7.8/2.8. I adjusted the slope +2% it started to run -9.89/0.78. My last try was +5% and it moved to -4.84/1.74. I am scared to put it up +10% slope but I was told anything from -5 to 5% is optimal. Also, what should I be looking for on my AFR, WOT, MAF, Spark Advance, and Knock? Any guidance will be extremely helpful.
My Setup is as follows:
LS3
MBRP Exhaust
CAI

wow...
you need to check your CAI and exhaust install... make sure everything is good and tight... seems to be an air leak somewhere...
'cuz your ltft's should not be that far apart from one bank to the other...

Great thanks, I will see what I find. My last log shows with the canned diablo tune:
LTFT Bank 1 Value 0.7813 Min -7.031 Max 0.7813
LTFT Bank 2 Value 0.0 in -6.250 Max 1.563
LTFT Bank 1 Value 0.7813 Min -7.031 Max 0.7813
LTFT Bank 2 Value 0.0 in -6.250 Max 1.563

well now, those numbers are different than what you posted in your first post...
these numbers look ok... they're not spread out like you mentioned before...
post up that log file please...

Will do, let me go can the tune and take it for spin beating it around again. Thanks!
RE: 2010 Camaro LS3 Tune Suggestions?
can the tune???
you mean remove the diablo tune??
no, you don't want to do that...
you need to log the tune you're going to use in the car - i.e. the diablo tune.. you need to leave the tune in there..
and after installing a tune, you need to put on about 100 miles for the ltft's to get relearned by the ecm and settle in before you do a log...
and no "beating it around"
you need to drive/cruise steady, like on a highway... keep your rpms between 1800-2000....
set your cruise control if you have to...
hahahah...

RE: 2010 Camaro LS3 Tune Suggestions?
LoL, Ok I gotcha. I put about 30 miles on it and the log was showing.
LTFT Bank 1 Value 0.0 Min -6.250 Max 3.906
LTFT Bank 2 Value -1.563 Min -6.250 Max 3.906
That is with the Diablo tune modified with +5% on the injectors. I will be on the highway tomorrow and I will record the data.

I have attached the summary files for both logs.rudydell wrote:Here are the logs as requested. I ran the car around 100 miles last night to get the tune in as suggested. Today I ran the car on mostly highway as suggested. Each stretch was around 30 miles. Thanks for the help Monte!
Drive1 is recommending going -3% on LTFT
Drive2 is recommending going -4% on LTFT
I dunno, go -3%, let it settle in and relog.
You can run these logs yourself with DSLogReux. DL it here

Looks like I need to lean it back another 3% to get it right where I need it. I am going to give it another few days of driving and some more datapoints before I adjust it.
I noticed the x64 issues on the DSLogRedux site, I was getting errors so maybe this will help some others. I have a resolution for the .net issue for Windows 7 x64.
Open Installation Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\FGBSoftware\DSLogRedux
Locate DSLogRedux.exe. Alternate Click and select properties.
Select Compatibility:
Put a Check on Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
Select Privilege Level:
Run this program as an administrator.
Selct Apply and Ok. Program works fine now. Same would apply for Vista x64.

You are correct...Although, when I test it in Win7x64, with UAC off and in a true admin account, all is well. In the future, I will be releasing true 64bit apps for Win7 as well.
Still working out algorithm issues for improved functionality as well.
