stock tranny....better leave the puck alone for now, anything over the tow tune will prematurely wear your tranny...fast! I believe the differance in pucks is the EPP does boost fooling and has 10hp and has a dial, instead of the switch, but if it was me I would plug it up and take my chances, if you drive nicely the tranny may last a long time, its up to how you drive.

Stock Tranny, I have Predator Performance Moudule, 60hp towing and 100 hp performance, I have a Predator U7130 that I run anywhere from tow to extreme and have not had a problem yet, I was told by a tranny guy that if I Change my oil once or twice a year it should last, I also have a AFE qiuckfit filter, 5 " exhaust, Pillar gauages a must, to keep the tranny from geting to hot. Side winder steps, Air ride system, No catalyst converter. I should also mention that I have had this on my truck since it was new, only 2,000 miles on it, tow an 15-18k trailer, Automatic, I have 47,000 miles on it now. I expect to have a problem since I read everyone else has one, so I have my tranny guy on stand by to rebuild me one that will take 1,000 hp if and when I need it

I hate to dsiagree but I am running about 780 hp with the stock tranny, Just take care of it. They are made for up to 550 hp they told me so, I don't race it all the time but, I won't let a chance go by with out taken the challange. Haven't lost yet, Just having fun and doing it in the right places so no one gets hurt. By the way mine has been doublestacked since it was new, now 47,000 miles and pulls an 18k toyhauler. Goodluck!
780HP on a stock transmission?? Is this RWHP, you've dyno'ed this? What year and mods are on your truck exactly? My guess is your around the 450hp mark.duckslayer wrote:I hate to dsiagree but I am running about 780 hp with the stock tranny, Just take care of it. I put my 7130 on around 22K. I went on a 8K vacation pulling a 30' 5th wheel. I have Apost gauges and watched my trans temp..
When I returned I had 75K on the trans. it was shifting funny. It would shift hard and also shifted sloppy. Took truck to dealer and found out trans was toast. The torque converter was shot and had taken out the tranny. Dealer trans tech said any power over 400 hp @ the flywheel wasn't good. Using the tow program (70hp) should be ok, but don't push it much beyond that. 100hp over stock if you don't go hog wild on stop and go heavy foot. I now use 100hp setting with an egg between my foot and pedal and 70hp when I tow, also with an egg. I now have over 110K miles on the truck, so far no problems. Just make sure to change trans oil and filter every 25K or so.
