U7194- can't update to 9r.12

Post by gdragich »

I have 2 dodge tools, just picked-up one for my wife's 2007 Yukon Denali XL- 6.2L. Went first to update to newest CROM 9r.12 and filed 3 times with message- 8195 out of 8628 Read More Data than Expected, Transfer Failed.

I was able to look on the forum and find 9r10 and got that in there OK as it was blanked with the partial transfer. Just wondering what up with that? I believe the SUV tunes were all revised between 10 and 12, so would like to get up to 12-is it an issue of some hardware problem or the actual CROM?

weird. The 9r12 update has worked fine for us. Hopefully mike can shed some light on this and maybe get you a patch file

Also, saw the v.11 Johan posted up in stickys. Tried that and get serial error, so going back to 10 for now.

gdragich...I had the exact same problem and just cleared it up yesterday (11DEC). Your U7194 Predator (like mine) can't handle the file size of the 9r12 CROM, so you just need to go with a previous CROM that is a bit smaller in size. It really turned out to not be a big deal, just frustrating alittie. Vas at Tech Support sent me 9r07 and it worked perfectly. Check out "2007 Tahoe....Custom Tune Required????" and see if that helps you out. To see exactly what I did for mine, you may have to scroll down a bit (2nd page).

I have 9r10 on there now. Johan posted up that r11 had revised all tunes for better performance, so of course I would like to have that one. Just wondering if there was a way to get it on there

the truck tunes have been re-done since 9r08.... so if you're on 9r08 or newer revision, you'll have the newest tunes already...

no tune changes between 10, 11, 12...

i had to go back to 9r07 because 9r10 my cal id was not supported and 9r11 and 9r12 are too big (incom. hardware)for my pred.... not cool because the truck actually runs stronger with the latest oem gm software that was just installed 2 weeks ago. since 9r10 is my latest capable revision will they be adding more cal ids to it.. big difference in 9r08 tunes which is what i was using until my software update at dealer

how could my cal id be supported in 9r07 but not in 9r08 or 9r10. my tool will at least accept those croms. Does this also mean if tcm support is ever released i wont be able to use it because it will be in the form of a "new crom" that my "old tool" doesnt support?

do NOT update any 7194 predator to the 9r11 or 9r12 revisions, period!

they are making some big changes to them, and will not work with all 7194 predators...

if it's on 9r08, or 9r10 already, leave it alone... do not try to update to r11 or r12!

Ok I am still sitting at 9r05a.(Which it is new enough that it did come with this revision) Should I go to 9r08 or 9r10?(Using a U7194 on 08 1500 Silverado)
