Trinity Question

Post by asarka »

I'm new to this type of performance tuning. So my questions might seem a bit novice.....

I currently have 2 vehicles that i would like to add some tuning too and wondering if the Trinity will work on more than 1 vehicle?

I have a 2007 Mustang GT/CS & a 2003 Chevy Suburban 2500 with the 8.1L

So will the unit be able to Tune both, or will i need to purchase a separate box for each?

you can only tune one vehicle at a time...

so if you wanted both vehicles to have a tune in them at the same time, you'd need to purchase 2 Trinity's...

cuz once you install a tune to a vehicle, it gets locked/married to that vehicle's calibrations & VIN number...

so if you only bought one trinity, you would have to restore the original backup stock tune to vehicle #1 in order to unlock the Trinity, and then you could use it on vehicle #2...

Which may not be as bad as it sounds depending on your vehicle usage.
You can store tune files on your PC. So if you've tweaked the tunes or have custom tunes for each car it's not like you have to start from scratch.
1) restore car #1 to stock -- resets trinity and disassociate from car #1 (5 min)
2) Hook up to car #2 and associate trinity to car #2 (5 min)
3) go to PC and download tune file to trinity (10 min)
4) hook up to car #2 and load tune file (5 min)

So, using custom tunes, you could switch cars in less than 1/2 hour. If you only used the provided performance tunes then you could switch cars in about half that time.
