Cnonfused with new predator

Okay so I just got my new predator (U7194) for my 08 chevy silverado yesterday. I went in and changed the dod, the top speed limiter, and the rev in gear setting. Not sure if the rev in gear is the shift points, or not but now shifts at around 5500 rpms. My questions I have involve more of the spark advance, fuel advance, timing advances, and fan controls in the programmer. I don't understand how they work. I have had a hypertech programmer for my 98 chevy truck, but it is nothing like this one. The only explanations for what the settings do I got off the Diablo site and they don't EXPLAIN alot, and not my book that came with the programmer. Oh yeah its on the 87 tune. Is there somewhere I can look to get explanations on how to set these before I screw the truck up?

Go with a custom tune. 78 dollars, Lew can take care of all that and even more settings that the Predator does not change to get you everything out of the truck. Check here!

well, if you're only using 87 octane gas and the 87 octane tune, you do not want to adjust the spark advance any more... more timing will only cause knock retard...

if you're using 91 or 93 octane gas, then use the 91 octane tune or the Diablo Tune (93 octane tune)...

the fueling in the Power Enrichment menu is for WOT fueling... don't want to just change things willy nilly.. you need to do some data logs to see where your WOT AFR is at...

the fan settings are already tweaked in the preset tunes, but if you have a lower temp t-stat put in, you can change them some more yourself if you want - to make them come on at more % power... if not, then you can leave them alone...

and like steeleshark mentioned, I can adjust all that and a lot more in a custom tune, based on data log files that you'd need to provide me....

Okay thanks Lew. I will try to get the power cords and usb cords needed to get that to you and just drive it for now. When I get the cords, then will start messing with it some more.

So if you can't adjust shift points, what does the rev in gear do?

it just changes the idle speed in gear. like if u wanted to adjust the idle to 1000 rpm it would do it.

Rev limit in gear will set the rev limiter higher/lower when you're in gear...

but, you'll have to shift it manually in each gear to get the benefits of it.. if you just leave it in D and go, the ecm will still shift at the normal rpm level...

but if you set that "rev limit in drive" higher, then manually put it into 1, 2, 3, and go, it will go up to that higher rpm limit you set...

all depends on how your car is... need to start off with 1 normal steady driving/cruising data log...

then I make tweaks... then you would need to get me another one... then if it needs further adjustment, I make a new tune, then you need to get me another cruising log...

if the steady driving/cruising log is ok, then we move on to WOT logs... you send me a WOT log, I tweak WOT stuff, send you an updated tune, you install it, get me a new WOT log, etc etc etc...
